Stanley L. Fries (Age 88)

Edna Mary VanLandingham

Edna Mary VanLandingham, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Beloved wife of Edsel VanLandingham. She was born in New Rochelle, New York on January 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Maurice Joseph Roche and Anna Catherine Bergin Roche. Edna was a kind, helpful, and lovable person.  She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Silver Spring, Maryland.  They shared many happy times together. For over twenty years, Edna was employed at The Hecht Company where she formed many life-long friendships. In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her daughter, Katherine Miller (Carl), her sisters, Marion Dail and Elizabeth Lassiter and her son-in-law, Patrick M. Goforth. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Edsel VanLandingham, her sons Steven (Stacey) and James (Alana), her daughters, Karen and Mary, her grandchildren, Jennifer Hillyard, Matthew Miller (Ashley), Robert Miller, Kathleen Miller, Brian VanLandingham, Patrick J. Goforth, Caitlin Goforth, Maya Algabi, Amanda Algabi (Mohammed Naser) and five great grandchildren, Declan Miller, Hailey Miller, Ghina Naser, Nada Naser, Salwa Naser and many devoted nieces, nephews, family and friends.   Edna’s life is a wonderful reminder of the power of family, faith, love and kindness. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd West, Silver Spring, Maryland 20901 on  Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 2301 Colston Drive, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910, on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 am.  Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

LESLIE ALANSON MILLER, JR. “LES”

Of Silver Spring, MD peacefully entered eternal rest on October 29, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Carol (Patrick) Miller; son Scott Patrick (Janet); daughter Staci Elizabeth Fitzwater (Vic); granddaughter Julia Elizabeth; and niece Kimberly Searfoss. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Miller and sister, Bettie Searfoss in 2008. Relatives and friends may call at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 10201 Democracy Blvd, Potomac, MD, Monday, November 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. with a Memorial (Panachida) Service at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, November 6, there will be a brief visitation from 10 – 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. JOSEPH PINO JR. (Age 91)

Of Olney, Maryland passed on October 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Grace Pino for 63 years; Survived by his sister, Josephine Pechnik, sister-in-law Netta Melson, and brother-in-law Carl Felton, preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Catherine (Pusateri) Pino and sisters, Rita Felton and Florence Keyser. Father of Joseph (Anna), Patricia, Vincent (Lucia) and Anthony (Matina) Pino. Joseph was the grandfather of Christina, Antonio, Alexandra, Matthew, Ava, Matteo and Luca. He is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews. Yvette Morcos (Age 87)  

Passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018, of Silver Spring, MD. Born in Jerusalem on September 9, 1931, daughter of the late John and Hanneh Morcos. Beloved sister of Anthony Morcos, Yvonne Kivorkian and the late sisters Chloe Alcock, Marcelle Enkiri and Laurice Morcos. Loving aunt to all her nephews and nieces, Nino Enkiri, John Enkiri, Artine Kivorkian, Ernest Alcock, Veronica Alcock, Yvonne Alcock, and the late Philip Enkiri and Johnny Kivorkian. Loving aunt to eight great nephews and nieces and to four great great-nieces.
